Job Summary
The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Southern Cities Clinic provides oral hygiene care to patients with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries or severe and persistent mental illness. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Dental Hygienist performs professional oral hygiene care for these patients, responding to their needs in a respectful and professional manner.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
  • Designing and implementing a preventive dentistry program, in consultation with the dentist, so that optimal levels of all clients' oral hygiene are maintained
  • Insuring that infection control policies and procedures will be followed to maintain a safe environment for staff and patients
  • Assisting with clinic duties so that patient services and clinic communications and operations run effectively and efficiently
  • Working cooperatively with all dental staff, Consultants, Contractors, supporting staff, and patients in order to effectively address the health needs of patients we serve
Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the state of Minnesota with the Board of Dentistry
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working with a special needs population
