PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Analyst I, Financial Aid is responsible for coordination of all data requests received. This role will analyze processes, data, and systems related to student financial aid programs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve service delivery, compliance, and strategic decision-making.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assists with a variety of critical LSC, federal, and state required reports
Monitors FA Job Sets on regular basis for job completions and interruptions in processes
Audits and verifies job aids and business processes for financial aid business analyst team
Provides product support for testing PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Financial Aid Modules
Reviews and write simple queries
Handles sensitive information in a professional and confidential manner
Documents business and system requirements, workflows, and process maps to support system enhancements or implementation
Provide data analysis to support financial aid funds forecasting, enrollment, and retention initiatives
Supports compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations through process audits and system reviews
Analyzes and recommends solutions for implementation issues in a timely manner
Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

Excellent knowledge of general office and software applications

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
Work will involve some travel within the LSC service area (north Greater Houston metro area)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be in good standing with the Department of Education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience using PeopleSoft 9.x or greater
Experience with end-user and project support
