Job Description
Mechanical Drafter translates engineering concepts into detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and manufacturing documentation using SolidWorks and PDM software. The role requires a strong proficiency in CAD software and working knowledge of PDM systems, revision control, and engineering document-release processes.

Requirements

  • Create accurate 3D models, detailed part drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing blueprints using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor.
  • Interpret engineering notes, sketches, specifications, and calculations to develop complete drawing packages for fabrication and assembly.
  • Define dimensions, geometric tolerances, materials, finishes, fastening methods, and other technical requirements in accordance with company and industry standards.
  • Manage drawing files, models, and released documents within the PDM system, ensuring proper version control, naming conventions, and archival practices.
  • Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, fit, function, and manufacturability prior to release.
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, fabricators, quality personnel, and management to resolve design issues and improve product manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
