Requirements

• Accurately performs correct blood collection procedures
• Identifies patients and labels specimens correctly and legibly
• Processes, labels, and stores specimens appropriately
• Performs laboratory procedures and evaluates test results
• Demonstrates awareness of and compliance with laboratory record keeping and quality control policies
• Effectively uses computer systems and programs
• Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent patient care information
• Promotes positive morale and team work
• Orients, mentors, and teaches clinical laboratory methods
• Participates in staff meetings and continuing education
• Complies with all safety and regulatory practices
