Job Description
The Operations Manager has general management responsibility of the Research & Development Pilot Plant as well as the facility maintenance of the R&D labs. This includes strategic planning for the Pilot Plant capabilities and responsibilities including plant safety, maintenance & engineering, materials control and employee relations. The Operations Manager will manage a team of 15 – 20 personnel through the start-up of the R&IC Pilot Plant and be responsible for maintaining the existing and future lab R&D lab spaces.
Responsibilities:
Develop a team to provide exceptional maintenance and engineering support while maintaining a safe work environment. Specific duties include management of employees, safety implementation, development/training, plant scheduling, recruiting/terminations, customer contact, supplier evaluation, and process
Oversight and leadership of the Lean journey in the pilot plant. This includes leveraging the Carlisle Operating System (COS) to determine priorities, ensure equipment availability and manage material flows. Additionally, strong emphasis on employee engagement, capability improvement, visual management, and advanced SMED techniques are required for success in this role.
Oversee inventory control to include all raw materials, supplies, and finished

Coach and develop supervisors and team leaders in their managerial skills to align with overall company goals.
Collaborate and interact with cross functional departments and at various levels within the organization to achieve facility, department and company goals.
Manage the R&IC buildings and grounds to ensure a professional appearance is maintained.
Continuously monitor compliance with all environmental permits pertaining to the manufacturing process and facility.
Expectation to understand, participate in, and support company COS initiatives, with focus on developing a lean mindset.

Education and Experience:
BS Degree in Engineering, Business or related field
Five to seven (5-7) supervisory/management experience
Prior experience in operations or engineering team management and capital equipment project execution.
Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office
Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing and
Preferred:
Four (4) years of experience in the manufacturing industry
ISO9001/14001 experience
Project management experience
Working Conditions:
This position primarily involves work in a standard office environment. It will be necessary to perform work in a manufacturing and/or lab facility and potentially job sites typical of the construction trade.
The role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining regular communication with teams, colleagues and stakeholders.
The position typically operates during business hours Monday – Friday (8am – 5pm). Ability to work flexible hours to meet the schedules of various time zones and continents, in addition to weekends when required. The employee is expected to comply with all company policies, not limited to but encompassing data security and confidentiality
Ability to travel at least 10% of the calendar year, for company events, customer research, attend industry events, or engage with strategic partners.
