Requirements

• Input patient, insurance, prescription, provider, drug and charge account information into the pharmacy software system.
• Process new and refill prescriptions and resolve errors in the pharmacy software system.
• Prepare prescriptions for pharmacist verification by pulling bulk stock bottles, counting tablets, measuring and pouring liquids, bubble packing medications and affixing prescription labels.
• File completed prescriptions in the pharmacy pick-up area.
• Answer patient questions and provide customer service (in person and on the phone), while referring all clinical medication questions to the registered pharmacist.
• Identify customers requiring financial assistance to obtain prescriptions and refer to appropriate resources.
• Assist patients with all aspects of the Medication Assistance Program (MAP) application process including completing of application, obtaining necessary financial verification documentation, obtaining physician signature on application and faxing application to appropriate company.
