Job Description
JRM is seeking a detail-oriented, knowledgeable, and proactive Prevailing Wage Compliance Specialist to ensure full compliance with prevailing wage laws, including the Davis-Bacon Act, New York State Labor Law, and local NYC requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, auditing, and enforcing labor compliance on public works or government-funded construction projects across NYC.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in public administration, Construction Management, Labor Studies, Business, Law, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in prevailing wage compliance, labor auditing, payroll review, or construction labor law enforcement.
Strong knowledge of Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA), NYS Labor Law Article 8 (construction), NYC-specific prevailing wage and living wage rules, and wage schedules and classifications
Ability to interpret wage determinations and collective bargaining agreements
Meticulous attention to details for accurate record-keeping and reporting.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage sensitive information and interact with stakeholders across all levels
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and wage compliance software (e.g., LCPtracker, B2Gnow, Elation Systems, or similar)
Experience with UKG payroll system preferred, but equivalent experience with other systems will be considered.
