Job Description
Job Summary 
Production Planner I is responsible for coordinating production schedules, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of products. The role involves working closely with various teams to optimize production efficiency and meeting customer demands. The individual’s attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to collaborate across teams will contribute to the overall success of the operation. 
This position may require minor travel and may require some after normal business hours reviews of production plans.  
Duties and Responsibilities: 

Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts, resource availability, material availability, and production capacity. 


Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to prevent shortages or excess inventory. Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment of materials for production and safety stocks. Raw Material ordering in some “business units” may be required.  


Coordination: Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to coordinate production activities, resolve scheduling conflicts, and ensure timely delivery of products. 


Data Analysis: Analyze production data to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize production plans. Use this analysis to make informed decisions and improve production efficiency. 


Communication: Communicate production schedules, priorities, and updates to relevant stakeholders. Keep all teams informed of any changes to the production plan and address any issues that may arise. 


Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in production planning and execution. Implement best practices to optimize workflows and reduce costs. 


Quality Assurance: Collaborate with operations and quality control teams to ensure that production plans meet the requirements to produce a quality product. Monitor on hold items as needed to resolve in a timely manner.  


Master Data: Basic Master Data maintenance as required by team expectations. 


Projects: Minimal project assignments. 


Metrics: Understanding of metrics and targets pertaining to business unit.  


Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:  

Required: 


High School Diploma 


2+ years in related field, internship, or employed within the company. 


Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 


Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other production planning software. 


Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. 


Preferred: 


Associates or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, or related field 


APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) 

Working Conditions: 

Office Environment  


Plant visit(s) – Required PPE provided by plants. 


Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.  


40 plus hours per week, must be present during these hours to answer inquiries from management, other departments. 


Some evening and weekend work may be required.
