Senior Claims Consultant - Construction/Real Estate

OVERVIEW

RESPONSIBILITIES
The senior construction consultant will need to be well versed in the following claim types: 5+ years of construction defect—indemnity, risk transfer, subcontractors, and general contractors. Experience managing real estate, builders risk and wrap programs (OCIP & CCIP). Handling complex litigated and high exposure/severity claims. Advanced coverage knowledge in general liability, property, and construction. You will be working independently with clients and consulting on large reserves, reservation of rights notices, coverage denials and other issues that have a significant impact on client retention and premiums. This position will also be presenting to prospects, in client renewals, stewardship meetings and claim reviews.
Contact with clients, carriers & internal customers on a regular basis to serve as advocate, liaison, mediator and resource
Coordinates with client/insured to assist with coverage issues
Participate in presentations with clients and prospects as requested
Documentation in ImageRight as required
Function as back-up for Claims Team members and Claims Manager
Be available on rotation for afterhours escalation calls
Identify and notify Risk Manager/Producers of claims trends to help facilitate a resolution
Assists team with high complex losses and questions related to such.
Training and mentoring team members
Participation and leading claims roundtables mandatory
Ability to problem solve independently and in collaboration with team members
Light Managerial Duties as requested by Claims Manger
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years claims experience to include Commercial, Personal Multiline and Work Comp as applicable unless waived due to exemplary performance
Expertise in coverage interpretation
Experience in Construction Defect preferred
Continued pursuit of professional designations (e.g., INS, AIC, SCLA, CPCU, ARMS)
Proficient in complex loss analysis
Familiarity with and experience in claims litigation
Mastery of Claims Consultant duties and responsibilities
Strong & professional oral & written communication skills
Follow through and attention to detail
Dependability and Initiative
Ability to demonstrate good judgement
Proficiency in Sagitta and ImageRight as applicable
Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Presentation and public speaking skills

Salary range is $110K to 130K per year DOE.
