Senior Technician, Surface and Pretreatment

Requirements

• Conduct chemical, electrochemical, and mechanical surface finishing operations at bench and pilot scale
• Prepare, transfer, and safely handle chemicals, including acids and bases
• Conduct surface treatment and coating performance evaluations
• Collect, analyze, and organize experimental data to support process development, technical evaluations, and decision-making
• Provide input, such as technical data analysis, to project managers/engineers/supervisor as part of project planning and scoping
• Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions
• Produce and evaluate bonding samples for automotive and aerospace material qualifications and process development according to the relevant specifications
• Execute a variety of surface and coating tasks including batch surface treatment, surface tension measurements, bench top draw down coating application, and others
• Travel to Arconic and customer plants, on an as-needed basis, to support implementation and troubleshooting of related processes
• Provide verbal and written reporting to project managers and supervisor
