Job Description
Be involved in projects with our Maryland Water Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. As a Water/Wastewater Lead Design Engineer, you will lead in assessment, design and plan production for water/wastewater and/or stormwater projects.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline
10 to 15 years of relevant post-education experience in water/wastewater engineering and/or water resources
PE License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
CADD production and civil design software skills (MicroStation Power InRoads/OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D)
Civil 3D pipe network and/or pressure network experience is a plus
Hydraulic Design for pipe and channels
Design of water, wastewater, or stormwater pump station facilities
Water/wastewater treatment plant design experience
Water /wastewater process modeling experience
Knowledge of GIS software and applications (e.g., Arc GIS, etc.)
Self-starter with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with some supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives
Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution
Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
