Job Description

The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. We are currently seeking a Field Engagement Specialist for the Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management (AHRMM) located in our downtown Chicago office.

Essential Functions

Innovation Programs Support: Assists in creating and driving AHRMM's advocacy messaging and thought leadership to a wider audience, including members, media, and other strategic stakeholders. Works with Senior Director and Membership & Marketing Manager to coordinate development and distribution of CQO Movement, Learning UDI Community, Clinically Integrated Supply Chain content, and other priority projects. Works with Membership & Marketing Manager to develop content strategies for each major release to increase the visibility and engagement with the resource(s). Maintains clear and consistent communication with members and business partners about CQO, LUC, Clinically Integrated Supply Chain, and other AHRMM programs, initiatives, tools, and resources. Uses content management system to publish content on the AHRMM website. General Marketing & Membership: Coordinates marketing activities to promote AHRMM's resources and initiatives. Researches, proposes, and implements new member benefits, programs, and initiatives with a strong focus on building and developing membership benefits for young professionals to ensure work force of the future strategy. Serves as the staff liaison to the Young Professionals Advisory Council and supports education, programming, and activities for students and young professionals, including activities at the annual conference, student outreach, and academic relations. Ensures all campaigns reflect consistent AHRMM image and branding. Annual Conference & Exhibition: Supports the annual conference and exhibition production and marketing to leverage membership engagement and create a seamless AHRMM brand experience before, during, and after the event. Maximizes attendee engagement via relevant, targeted communications.

Knowledge Requirements:


in project management, ideally in a non-profit or association environment. Previous experience and or strong knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods to include print, web/digital, and social media.


in marketing/communications. Knowledge of health care marketing, planning and/or communications a plus.


Bachelors degree in Marketing or related. 3-5 years experience in project management, marketing, communications, association management, membership and customer relations, and writing.

Technical Requirements:

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus. Knowledge in association management system (AMS) or CRM system a plus.

Abilities Required:

Must be creative, self-motivated, and take initiative along with excellent communication and customer service skills, appropriate for a member-driven association. Be organized and resourceful in problem solving. Must possess the ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. This position requires self-motivation, flexibility, discipline, and the ability to prioritize and work as a member of a team in a fast-paced, high pressure environment. Attention to detail, strong customer focus, and professionalism are required. The candidate should be flexible as situations and environments can change. This position requires some travel.
