3M is seeking a Communications Coordinator within the Industrial and Safety Markets Center (ISMC) in 3M’s Industrial Business Group located in Maplewood, MN.
The person hired for the position of Communications Coordinator is a results-oriented individual with experience planning, managing, and implementing communications projects across functional business lines. The ISMC Marketing Team combines solutions from the entirety of 3M and delivers them to our end-user and channel-partner industrial customers. This role requires a proven understanding of broad communications concepts and attention to detail, including management of internal and external resources required to bring projects to completion. The Communications Coordinator must deliver technically sound communications projects with short-term plans that address significant business and marketing issues.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Providing team leadership and vendor supervision for specific marketing communications objectives, strategies, and tactics.
Assisting in the creation of strategy and leading the execution of marketing projects in specific industrial market areas which span multiple IBG divisions.
Assisting in the creation of and leading the management of dashboards for marketing topics (e.g., brand, marketing competencies, insights generation, etc.)
Using influencing, writing, and presentation skills to lead multiple communication projects, manage project budgets, interpreting and applying policies, and analyzing data to make strategic and tactical recommendations under minimal supervision.
Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Minimum of five (5) years of combined experience in marketing communications, marketing, social media and/or digital marketing
Minimum of three (3) years of project management experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, English, or Marketing from an accredited institution
Very strong writing, communication, analytical and inter-personal skills.
Ability to manage relationships and build consensus with a diverse set of stakeholders at every level of the company.
Diverse experience in marketing communications, commercialization, branding, digital marketing, and measurement.
Demonstrated experience creating and implementing programs from concept to completion using metrics to drive continuous improvement.
B2B or industrial experience and knowledge.
Experience working directly with product marketers, sales professionals, 3M channel partners, executives, and executive admin.
