A successful candidate in this position will
Serve as the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Laboratory Policy (OLP), Office of the Deputy Director for Field Operations, Office of Science (SC), Program Analyst responsible for providing senior level advice and assistance to the Deputy Director for Field Operations and the Director, Office of Science.
Analyze findings and recommends changes to improve operations in laboratory program and policy evaluation activities.

As a Program Analyst, you will:Analyze, evaluate, and advise management on the effectiveness of laboratory programs and operations and the productivity and efficiency of management procedures and policy.
Analyze and study proposed legislation and/or regulations for impact on the laboratory complex. Identifies and works with organizations to address impacts and apprises management officials of possible outcomes and any necessary actions.
Conduct, coordinate, and/or plan studies and analyses to support development of policy and program activities, including analysis of related reports to identify and implement solutions to program execution, management, and administration.
Provides advice on establishment of policies, plans, and procedures to improve productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of operations, planning, and management of laboratories.
Prepares a variety of reports to support the findings/recommendations and develops standard operating procedures, systems, and methods on the assigned functions and actions.
Occasional travel - May be required to travel 1-2 weeks a year.
