Position Summary:

Supports other call center staff and employees within the Administrative Offices by performing task oriented duties and providing clerical, analytical, administrative, and/or operational support under general supervision. Works in campus Call Center / Administrative Offices Reception area assisting callers and visitors and providing a high level of Administrative support to LSC University Park Administration as needed.

Job Functions:

Has developed specialized skills through job-related training and/or substantial on-the-job experience Completes work with a limited degree of supervision Likely to act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience Identifies key issues and patterns when problems arise and reports issues to leadership Takes a broad perspective to problems and proposes new, less obvious solutions Assists students (callers and walk-in visitors) with a wide variety of questions and issues that may include, but are not limited to, answering general student-related questions, or directing them to the appropriate area for Financial Aid, Admissions, Advising, Bursar’s office, and other student-related concerns Assists LSC employees and community members (callers and walk-in visitors) with general questions and issues as they arise, and/or directing them to the appropriate area as needed Processes and reviews, information and files May focus on planning and/or implementing special events, recruitment, or act as customer service representative in the department This position also provides suggestions for knowledge base updates, and collaborates with other Call Center personnel to improve the University Park Administrative Office operations and exceed customer expectations Performs detailed recordkeeping and follows established procedure under general supervision Provides a variety of high-level administrative support functions to Administrative Office employees as needed. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to effectively and efficiently work in a fast-paces office environment Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population Strong attention to detail Ability to use common office software products, with a focus on Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work on multiple assignments with overlapping time frames without sacrificing efficiency and accuracy

Salary:

$12.81/hour

Work Schedule & Conditions:

Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards The position’s hours are specifically evenings and weekends (Saturdays)

Qualifications



Required:

High School diploma and at least 3 year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred: Associates degree
