The Executive Visibility Manager is a key strategic communications expert and strategic thinker with responsibility for developing executive-level communications plans, managing the executive visibility programs and implementing opinion influencer engagement plans, in support of Blue Shield of Californiaâ€™s corporate reputation and thought leadership initiatives.
The Manager role plays a crucial role positioning Blue Shield of California as a leading health plan committed to be an ethical, non-profit organization recognized for positively influencing communities through innovation and social impact. The Manager is responsible for developing relationships with and implementing communication tactics that reach targeted stakeholder groups and opinion influencers by amplifying multi-touch point messaging on Blue Shield of California as a driving force for corporate citizenship, governance, affordability, access, innovation, and health reform.
The Manager will manage editorial calendar for external events and tactics involving executives participating in the executive visibility and thought leadership activities. The Manager develops, in partnership with the Corporate Communications team, effective executive visibility and thought leadership content for media, social media and Blue Shieldâ€™s own corporate news platform. The Manager is responsible for the development and administration of a BSC opinion influencer and stakeholder engagement strategic plan, including maintenance, growth and continuous improvement of the BSC External Affairs stakeholder database. The Manager establishes and maintains effective working relationships with colleagues in the External Affairs department as well as with in Internal Communications and Communications Transformation teams, respectively. The Manager will work closely with c-suite and senior-level executives to provide targeted executive communications support that expands and strengthens BSCâ€™s corporate reputation and demonstrates thought leadership across the industry.
Master's degree in communications, health administration, public health, business or comparable preferred;

At least 5 years working in a fast-paced corporate culture with senior level executives

Solid amount of administrative work requires detail-orientation, multi-tasking, and ability strategically organize events, activities and editorial calendars
Demonstrates advanced knowledge and experience in public relations, mass communications, social media
Demonstrates advanced principles of strategic planning and project management
Excellent written, oral, and public speaking skills
Advanced understanding of the role social determinants of health
Excellent customer service skills
Strong understanding of key principles of the health care delivery system and theories of effective communication with different stakeholders and constituencies.
