Job Description

MTM LinguaSoft is looking for a Project Manager to successfully guide our clients’ ongoing foreign language localization and translation projects from inception through to delivery. Reporting to our Founder and CEO, you will develop an in-depth knowledge of the clients’ localization needs and ensure that requirements and expectations are met for every project. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and globally-minded professional to contribute to exciting projects while developing cross-cultural relationships. 

The Project Manager will manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously while adhering to MTM LinguaSoft’s QA model for Linguistic Quality Assurance. You will be responsible for project planning and scheduling, client/team communication, cost control, project tracking, reporting, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and reliable bilingual individual with project coordination/management experience.

Primary responsibilities 
  • Manage and deliver high-quality translations in accordance with clients’ specifications
  • Track and coordinate active projects and costs with clients and freelancers
  • Contract with appropriate translation resources and other vendors 
  • Perform quality control reviews and prepare final product for delivery
  • Manage client, vendor and freelancer expectations 
  • Perform customer follow up reviews
  • Prepare billing data for accounting
  • Maintain the database of translation resources
  • Maintain translation memories and glossaries
  • Produce regular and timely status reports for internal and external use
 
Secondary Responsibilities 
  • Provide back-up to other members of the team. 
  • Keep up with language industry changes
  • Propose improved work processes
  • Test and implement new technology tools
  • Troubleshoot client and supplier issues
Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in translation or related discipline and 2+ years relevant work experience in project management/coordination; Master’s Degree a plus  
  • 3+ years of professional translation/localization experience
  • Speaks English at an idiomatic level with fluency in Spanish and/or Asian or Middle Eastern language
  • Advertising agency/marketing/creative services or web development agency experience is a big plus
  • Experienced with Computer-Aided-Translation Tools (TRADOS/SDL, MemoQ, smartcat, WordFast or other), and Microsoft Office 
  • Excellent writing, copy/editing skills, and general communications skills
  • Superior organizational ability
  • Ability to learn new technology tools at a fast pace, using self-tutoring and peer-learning
  • Creative problem-solver

  • Knowledge and appreciation of international business operations

  • Knowledge of programming tools for web and online development helpful
