The Head of Business Development, Health Plans will be responsible for advancing Ovia’s strategic vision and presence in the payor market (Commercial ASO, Fully-Insured, Government, Medicaid). In this role, you will be focused on growing Ovia’s Enterprise Business through the creation of partnerships with leading Health Plans to embed Ovia's solutions into their Commercial Fully insured and ASO business. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Enterprise Sales and is an individual contributor.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic professional and energetic team player who will bring a stellar background on solution selling. You must excel at building strong relationships, establishing credibility with enterprise clients, leading through influence, and thinking strategically. You are relentless in the pursuit of a strong pipeline that ultimately leads to business revenue.

Responsibilities
  • Uncover, develop and close opportunities within the national payor market
  • Research target opportunities, generate account leads, and build a robust pipeline (must create a $15M qualified pipeline representing Commercial ASO, Fully-Insured, Government, and Medicaid)
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, priorities and pain points
  • Develop creative action plans and compelling customer value propositions customized for success at each account (i.e., email campaigns, cold calls, LinkedIn Sales Navigator)
  • Create a sales strategy/business plan that supports Ovia’s payor overarching corporate goals and strategies
  • Prepare and perform all product demonstrations and presentations to prospects
  • Prepare and complete RFPs and RFIs with the highest level of quality
  • Build strong customer relationships within your market: health plans
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and maintain Salesforce up to date
  • Build and demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Ovia Health’s solution for health plans
  • Collaborate with Chief of Product on future product enhancements to support health plans
  • Help create the strategic roadmap for Ovia Health in the Medicaid market
  • Collaborate with Client Success and Legal during the sales process and through handoff
Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in selling enterprise solutions to health plans
  • A demonstrated ability to achieve sales quota in the payor market (confirmed through references and documentation)
  • Skilled delivery of engaging, compelling sales and product presentations, in small and large group settings
  • Strong prospecting, cold-calling, lead generation and closing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fantastic analytical skills and proven ability to tell an ROI story
  • Has worked in both large and small companies selling business application software
  • Proven network within the health plan vertical and ability to build rapport at all levels
  • Takes initiative and drives for measurable revenue results
  • Strategic thinker and sharp problem solver who does not shy away, but rather is motivated by seemingly intractable challenges
  • Is curious, self-motivated, outgoing, and engaging with a self-directed entrepreneurial spirit
  • Has a proven history of being highly organized and detail oriented
  • Motivates other team members and lead by example
  • Works with minimal supervision, strong prioritization, has the ability to adapt and be flexible
