ONE AMERICA OPERATIONS DIRECTOR:
The Operations Director will lead our growing organization to establish and maintain systems and processes that support organizational operations. The incumbent will oversee all aspects of finance, HR, legal, and information systems. This person will possess extensive experience establishing and implementing such systems and processes and should have strong knowledge of financial management and best practices for establishing a flexible, equitable, and inclusive organizational culture. The Operations Director will supervise the Operations Coordinator and manage engagement with the organization’s accountant, Professional Employer Organization, and pro bono lawyer. Duties include developing and implementing monthly finance processes, overseeing the recruitment, hiring, and payroll of employees, making recommendations for organizational policies and practices. The Operations Director will also lead efforts to ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Establish and maintain finance processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly close, payroll, general accounting functions, annual audit, and reporting
Support CEO and VP in the annual budgeting process, budget tracking, and adjustments
Provide financial information as needed for grant reporting purposes
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, IRS regulations, and local laws
Maintain relationship with organization’s accountant for IRS reporting and auditing purposes
Lead recruitment efforts, including writing job descriptions, seeking a diverse candidate pool, developing a hiring process, and overseeing screening of candidates
Manage performance management process
Develop HR policies aligned with best practices, including promotion policy, travel policies, performance management policy, and salary transparency policy
Oversee logistical planning of the annual all-staff retreat
Information Systems, Legal, Other:
Oversee the maintenance of the organization’s G-Suite, Monday.com, and Zoom accounts
Identify new tools for increasing organizational efficiency
Draft contracts and partnership agreements and submit for review to legal counsel
Manage engagement with an insurance broker, IT consultant, and outside professional services
Experience establishing and implementing financial and operational systems and processes in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment
Ability to be responsible for all financial data, reporting, and audit coordination for organizational program areas
Experience managing human resources functions
Familiarity with best practices for a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work culture
Commitment to accountability and data-driven decision making
Willingness to work collaboratively through collective decision-making
Strong leadership qualities and desire to be part of a team
Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage business systems and processes to support a multi-million dollar nonprofit organization
Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills
Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding decisions involving systems
Ability to translate and distill financial concepts and effectively collaborate with programmatic and fundraising colleagues
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience and eight (8) to ten (10) years professional experience in progressively responsible non-profit or business administration
Proficiency in Google Suite, Expensify, and Quickbooks
The salary for this position is $75,000 - $80,000 annually with potential for growth. Generous benefits package includes medical/dental/vision coverage, retirement matching, professional development support, flexible work hours and location, and generous vacation time.
