1st Light Machine Operator

Requirements

• Operate equipment to meet expected per-hour production rates
• Perform first-piece inspections and record data for each job
• Perform tasks required to run machines, including operating controls and monitoring conditions of the equipment being used
• Set up light machinery to perform bending, forming, and balancing operations on various pieces of equipment
• Visually inspect work during the run for burrs, broken punches, etc.
• Working from shop orders, checking parts against drawings, and using fixed gauges
• May assist with moving material, parts, or containers
• Engage safety devices before starting machinery
• Notify the set-up person regarding difficulties with dies or malfunction of equipment
• May operate other equipment in the department as directed
• Use micrometers, scales, and fixed gauges and record inspection results
• Follow prescribed safety practices, using all safety devices furnished
• Perform other duties as assigned
