Job Description
Public Rights Project is seeking a 2026/2027 Legal Fellow for one year to support a mission of combating federal and state abuses of power and promoting civil rights. The fellowship offers an opportunity to work directly with organizations, learn about litigation strategy, and contribute to impactful legal projects. Fellows will have a strong preference for those with fewer than three years experience.

Requirements

  • J.D. from a U.S. law school
  • Practiced law license or applying for a law license
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Passion for social justice and public service lawyering
  • Curiosity about the role of government to promote social change
  • Ability to work well with others and diverse groups
  • Experience working with underserved communities
