Role OverviewGerdau's G.Future program is a 12-month intensive leadership development program designed to develop future leaders for the company. Participants will be placed in the Melt Shop or Rolling Mill departments at the Petersburg, Virginia facility. The program utilizes on-the-job learning, classroom training, coaching, and ongoing mentorship to shape participants into future managerial and technical leaders.
What You Will Do
G.Futures will solve large- and small-scale problems, including creating mechanical component/assembly drawings and proposing business methods to optimize product output. They will work as leaders managing strategic implementation for overall business goals, visit customers and suppliers, and travel to various destinations throughout the US and Canada. Participants will also interact with other G.Futures across North America while tackling organizational challenges.

This program is ideal for recent engineering graduates (within the past 3 years or graduating by Summer 2027) with a record of high academic achievement (minimum GPA 2.5, preferred 3.0+). Candidates should have leadership roles in student organizations or extracurricular activities, high learning agility, and a willingness to adapt. The role requires ability to travel within the US and Canada and legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Automation, Material Sciences/Metallurgy, or other applicable degree
- Bachelor's graduate from within the past 3 years, or expected to graduate by Summer 2027
- Record of high academic achievement (Minimum GPA 2.5, preferred GPA 3.0 or above)
- Preference for a degree related internship experience
- A maximum of 3 years full-time work experience
- Well-rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extra-curricular activities
- A high learning agility and willingness to adapt and develop continuously
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment
- Ability to travel to various locations within the United States and Canada during the length of the program
