Job Description
This is a full-time teaching position in the School District of Philadelphia. The salary range is $55,771 to $97,852, depending on education level and years of experience. The job involves planning and teaching subjects such as science and social studies, as well as assessing student needs and designing differentiated instruction. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate in the respective grade level and subject area, or be able to obtain an emergency permit and meet its requirements until certification is issued.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate in respective grade level, and endorsements in respective subject area, OR ability to obtain an emergency permit and consistently meet its requirements until certification is issued
  • Demonstrated knowledge of grade level education, subject specific expertise, state standards, and performance levels
  • Ability to assess students' needs and learning styles, design differentiated instruction, and use simulations and technological innovations in the classroom
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
