Role OverviewWe are hiring 911 Emergency Dispatchers that function primarily as a call-taker telecommunicator and are responsible for receiving, recording and effectively managing requests for ambulance assistance/transport from various sources.
What You Will Do
The Dispatcher will offer pre-arrival instructions as indicated, allocate EMS resources properly, and maintain accurate and complete data entry for the shift.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have minimal medical training or telecommunications experience, or at least one year's experience as an EMS or public safety dispatcher, and possess good typing skills with speed and accuracy necessary to efficiently process emergency and nonemergency calls.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimal medical training or telecommunications experience, or at least one year's experience as an EMS or public safety dispatcher
- Skilled in reading and writing English
- Ability to communicate clearly on the radio and telephone
- Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately
- Ability to efficiently utilize all equipment assigned to him/her
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Possess good typing skills with speed and accuracy necessary to efficiently process emergency and nonemergency calls
- Ability to understand basic computer applications
Benefits
- Sign-on bonus: $1,500 upon completion of dispatcher training (typically 4 months), $1,000 at 12 months of employment, $1,000 at 18 months of employment, $1,000 at 24 months of employment
