Job Description
The Ohio Department of Higher Education is seeking an Academic Oversight Analyst to monitor and track public and private institutions that have had adverse actions or findings identified by the United States Department of Education, accreditors, or licensure boards. The position is responsible for reviewing institutions for continuous compliance with standards for program rigor and advising the Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs on recommendations to bring institutions into compliance.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree (JD preferred)
  • Supervisory or management experience
  • Previous experience with institutional and professional accreditation agencies and the approval of undergraduate and graduate programs in institutions of higher education
  • Excellent communication and data analytic skills with mastery of standard PC applications (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to interpret and disseminate high-level policy and procedures
  • Ability to relate professionally, diplomatically, and with credibility in interactions with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to function as a team member, identify problems/issues, and offer solutions
  • Committed to continuous learning
  • Willing to travel in and out-of-state as needed
