Job Description
The Montana Department of Revenue is seeking an Accountant 1 or 2 to manage the department's accounting and fiscal systems and activities. The position involves revenue collection and distribution, providing professional support for agency operations, and preparing and monitoring department-approved budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a directly related field
  • 0-2 years of job-related work experience with progressively responsible experience in accounting, fiscal and/or budget management for Accountant I
  • 2+ years of job-related work experience with progressive responsibility and experience in accounting and fiscal/budget management for Accountant II
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting and budgeting, fiscal management, internal department systems, and applicable state laws, policies, and procedures
  • Skills in research and analysis, accuracy and attention to detail, conflict resolution & customer service, and written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
