Job Description
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for an Accountant. This position is responsible for ensuring accounting treatment is recorded in accordance with GAAP, maintain accurate and reliable financial statements, and establish and maintain internal controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, OR 4 years of related accounting experience
  • 1 year of related accounting experience
  • Alternative combinations of related experience or education may be considered
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Ability to use an advanced and functional knowledge of the financial reporting structure and related accounting systems for assigned program(s)
  • High proficiency in utilizing Excel to complete work
