Role Overview

The Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs is seeking a motivated, dynamic individual to join their skilled nursing facility. The successful candidate will assist the Business Office Manager with various duties, including accounts payable and/or accounts receivable functions, financial reporting, and budget management. The role requires excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

What You Will Do

The incumbent will perform duties involving accounting skills, coordination of fiscal-related matters, and preparation of financial reports. They will also be responsible for processing invoices, vouchers, and payments, maintaining the Resident Trust Fund account, and verifying the accuracy of monies collected and deposited into resident & facility accounts.

Requirements

  • Experience with Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable functions
  • One year of employment experience working in a professional office environment performing administrative or clerical functions
  • One year of employment experience communicating with internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing
  • One year of employment experience preparing correspondence and documentation
  • Computer proficiency and demonstrable experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and the use of web-based software
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to research policies and procedures and communicate findings
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to act on changing priorities and responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English: reading, writing, speaking, and understanding
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays as required
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not be limited to, a Level II background screening and drug test
