Role Overview

The Accounting and Finance Manager is responsible for all accounting operations across the parish and its school, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, reconciliations, donations, financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting. The role reports to the Director of Business Operations and operates under general supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment and initiative. The employee is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.

What You Will Do

The Accounting and Finance Manager will direct the full accounting cycle, ensure accurate record-keeping, prepare checks, bank deposits, and reconciliations, develop long-term financial plans, prepare and present financial statements, and monitor cash flow. The role will also oversee payroll processing, employee benefits administration, and personnel records, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard parish assets.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, five or more years of related accounting experience, and proficiency in Quickbooks for Non-Profits, Excel, and payroll platforms. A practicing Roman Catholic in good standing is preferred, and the role requires maintaining compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration (CPA or MBA preferred)
  • Five (5) or more years of related accounting experience
  • Nonprofit or fund accounting experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks for Non-Profits, Excel, and payroll platforms
  • Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing preferred
  • Valid Texas driver's license required
