Job Description
Role Overview

As the Accounting Manager, you will work closely with the Finance Team to maintain organizational internal controls, accounting policies and procedures, statutory financial requirements and best practices, and organizational mission, vision and values. You will be a fully contributing member of the Finance Team and will help provide data and analysis – along with recommendations – to ensure the ability to accurately report on the financial status of the agency, and to be able to provide insights into future operation and financial decisions.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include financial close, financial analysis and reporting, supervision, and participation in shared leadership. You will manage all departmental functions, including A/R and A/P, general invoicing and dues billing, collections, banking, cash reconciliations, and cash management. You will also prepare financial statements, quarterly reports/KPIs, and create new general ledger accounts.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Strong background in finance, accounting, and/or bookkeeping
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Core computer skills in word processing, database management and spreadsheets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capacity to correspond and work respectfully with diverse teams
  • Working knowledge of various accounting systems including Financial Edge, preferred
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems, such as Paylocity, preferred
  • Experience in non-profit accounting
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a motor vehicle during work hours that is covered by adequate car insurance
  • Must pass a criminal history background check, employment verification, motor vehicle records check, and drug screen, that does not test for marijuana
