Role Overview

The Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking an Accounting Technician to maintain specialized accounting record systems, including checking financial transactions for propriety, resolving errors, balancing accounts and records, and preparing reports. The successful candidate will work in various OFS units and perform functions that compute, calculate, and record financial, statistical, and numerical data to record details of business transactions to maintain accounting records and/or for use in statistical studies.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience calculating, recording, and maintaining accounting information
  • OR one year of experience calculating, recording, and maintaining accounting information and at least 43 quarter credit hours from an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school that includes 9 quarter credit hours in accounting
  • OR successful completion of the State of Oregon Accounting Career Mobility Program or equivalent accounting certificate program from an accredited college or university
  • OR at least 94 quarter credit hours or an associate degree from an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school that includes 12 quarter credit hours in accounting
