Job Description
The State of Connecticut, Office of the State Comptroller (OSC) is seeking a detail-driven and solutions-focused Accounts Examiner to support the Security and Asset Management unit in the Central Accounts Payable division.

Requirements

  • Conduct detailed reviews of requests for Core-CT security roles to ensure appropriate access and compliance with established security policies;
  • Provide guidance to state agencies and operating units regarding segregation of duties and proper application of security standards;
  • Review and approve requests for non-standard user IDs;
  • Perform annual audits of security roles, including facilitating and coordinating internal reviews of divisional role assignments to ensure continued compliance and effectiveness of access controls;
  • Conduct reviews of petty cash and trustee accounts to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures;
  • Investigate discrepancies, follow up with agencies to resolve issues, and provide guidance to strengthen internal controls;
  • Review and evaluate CO-853 Adjustments to State-Owned Assets forms to ensure agency adherence to applicable policies and procedures;
  • Approve or reject submissions, identify weaknesses in internal controls, and provide recommendations and guidance to agencies for corrective action;
  • Examine reports of illegal, irregular, or unsafe handling of state or quasi-public agency funds in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes Section 4-33a, ensuring proper documentation, review, and follow-up actions, as necessary.
