Job Description
Texas Workforce Commission is seeking an Accounts Examiner I to perform entry-level accounts examination and auditing work, including reviewing and auditing employer accounting records, collecting taxes, and communicating with employers and agencies. The ideal candidate will have good organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines. The position offers a competitive salary, defined retirement benefit plan, and optional 401(k) and 457 accounts.
Requirements
One year of full-time experience in maintaining accounting records or performing auditing work
Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications
Acceptance into a TWC Internship or TWC Apprenticeship will satisfy the minimum qualifications
Experience in accounting or auditing
Experience in investigations
Experience in collections
Experience with payroll records
Experience with financial records and statements
Experience in providing information regarding the Texas Unemployment Compensation Act or other State and Federal laws and policies
Personal computer programs experience, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel
Public speaking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
