Job Description
Assists in planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs for patients/residents, according to their assessment and care plan.

Requirements

  • Conducts assessments and gathers information to develop individualized recreation programs
  • Works cooperatively with interdisciplinary team to develop, implement and evaluate plan of care
  • Schedules recreational activities to accommodate residents' hours, needs and preferences
  • Provides activities to residents confined to their rooms, cognitively impaired residents, and ensures all residents are informed of activities
  • Records progress notes and audits chart entries
  • Performs quality assessment and assurance functions, including daily regulatory compliance rounds
  • Develops and updates Recreation Services policies and procedures
  • Communicates with Nursing Home Administrator on daily basis to discuss resident care, personnel and budget issues
