Role OverviewAs a Recreation Specialist at Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center, you will design, create, and implement recreational and social activities, programs, and therapeutic groups for children and adolescent individuals in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. You will evaluate and assess clients' current level of functioning, assign individuals to appropriate groups and activities based on treatment goals and level of cognitive functioning, and maintain inventory for STAR mall.
What You Will Do
Your daily responsibilities will include facilitating a minimum of 3 groups daily, accurately and timely recording progress in profiler, maintaining inventory for STAR mall, and collaborating with other program supports to ensure activities are therapeutic and appropriate.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- At least three year’s experience providing recreational and leisure activities
- Experience working directly with individuals with behavior disorders
- Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position)
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines
- Valid driver's license
