Role OverviewThe Activity Specialist will plan, implement, and lead physical fitness/healthy living, hands-on learning, and teambuilding activities for school-age children. The role involves working with Group Leaders and Youth Workers to implement program activities aligned with DYCD required content areas and ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of program participants.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include planning and leading activities, working with Group Leaders and Youth Workers, ensuring participant safety, and promoting an inclusive environment. The Activity Specialist will also prepare the learning environment, lessons, and necessary supplies for all activities.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will possess strong social and emotional maturity, excellent communication and organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Fluency in Arabic, Chinese, or Spanish is preferred. The Activity Specialist will work closely with the Program Director and other staff members to create a strength-based, youth-focused atmosphere.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Relevant experience required
- Experience in a specific activity area such as art, dance, nutrition, or organized sports
- Current CPR/first aid/AED certification or willingness to complete this training/certification within 6 months of hire
