Role OverviewThe Ohio Veterans Homes provide trauma-informed care long-term care to Ohio's Veterans. The Activity Therapy Specialist 1 will organize and conduct empowerment activities to promote high self-esteem and self-respect, and assist in establishing goals and objectives for the department.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include planning and conducting outings, social events, and special programs, monitoring nursing home residents participating in activities, and developing and evaluating the activity portion of the Plan of Care.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This role requires a completion of associate degree in recreation or specialty area, 12 months of experience in Activity Therapy, and a valid driver's license. The ideal candidate will have certification in animal-assisted therapy if utilizing trained animals for therapeutic goal reaching purposes.
