Job Description
The Activity Therapy Specialist 2 position is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing clinical adjunctive therapy programs for inmates at the London Correctional Institution. The role requires providing direction and assistance in the care and treatment of inmates, as well as promoting self-care and physical and mental well-being.
Requirements
Plans, organizes, and conducts clinical adjunctive therapy programs for inmates
Directs and monitors all aspects of psychiatric patient day-to-day activities
Promotes self-care and physical and mental well-being
Provides direction and assistance in the care and treatment of inmates
Carries out inmate or group treatment delineated by the multidisciplinary treatment team
Monitors and instructs treatment plan programs to inmates
Provides clinical lead work/work direction to lower-level activity therapy specialists
Assists with subduing of violent inmates
Prepares and maintains work-related documentation
Facilitates treatment with appropriate interventions as decided by treatment team
Conducts one-on-one communication/interaction with inmates
Leads and participates with inmates in activities
Reports any problems and/or unusual incidents directly to immediate supervisor
Attends scheduled meetings
Completes quality assurance monitoring and documentation
Assists other departments when necessary
Perform other duties as assigned
