Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing team in Nephrology. This position will split time between the Nephrology ICU and the dialysis service line providing care at Clements University Hospital (CUH).

Requirements

  • Graduate of a master’s degree or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program or Master’s degree or higher in nursing, documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program.
  • Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by Texas State Board of Nursing. Authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Current applicable Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association or American Red Cross Life Support certification(s) based on UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Inpatient critical care or hospitalist experience.
  • Certification required.
  • Licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board or Licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by Texas State Board of Nursing.
  • Documented completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in technical/procedural skills, as appropriate and based on specialty and training.
