Samuel Merritt University (SMU) seeks an Adjunct Faculty in Microbiology to teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses, contributing to student learning and professional growth.

Requirements

  • M.S., Ph.D., M.D., D.P.M., or equivalent in microbiology, or a closely related discipline
  • At least two years of experience teaching at a higher academic institution
  • Graduate-level teaching experience strongly preferred
  • Experience teaching microbiology (in-person and online) preferred
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to teach in person at our Oakland campus
  • Ability to read, write, compose, and edit complex documents
  • Ability to do deskwork/computer work for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to express ideas clearly through verbal and written communication
  • Ability to mentor students
