Role Overview

This position is located in Marathon, Florida, and assists the Park Manager in planning, coordinating, and implementing all administrative activities such as annual ticket audits, purchasing audits, budget monitoring, and completion of daily, weekly, and monthly reports. The Administrative Assistant I will also assist management with purchasing, bids, work projects, requisitions, and other necessary administrative functions.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities of this position include tracking and reconciling the park's budget, overseeing the Purchasing Card (P-card) process, managing SAMAS/FLAIR reports, EMIS, Oculus, PPMTS database, and future tracking systems. The Administrative Assistant I will also answer phones, operate radio equipment, and maintain logs, assist in administrative activities related to the computerized reservation system, and provide natural and cultural history information to visitors.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of administrative principles and practices
  • Skill in personal computer operation, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and database software
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies/procedures relating to administrative functions
  • Ability to prepare and maintain financial records
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
