Role Overview

The Administrator - Network LAN/WAN will be responsible for cabling and termination, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic systems. The role requires 100% travel within the USA and involves working at heights, in confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The Fiber Technician must be self-motivated, positive in approach, and professional.

What You Will Do

The Fiber Technician will mount and install racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware. Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required. Perform testing using an OTDR, Fluke & EFXO, and troubleshoot using an OTDR to identify and correct problems end to end, and Network wide.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in Fiber and prefer Industry Certifications (Corning/FOA/BICSI). The role requires proficiency in terminating all connector types and methods for SMF and MMF systems, as well as experience in Data Center installation, Mechanical and Fusion Splice, and OSP / Confined Space Entry.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proficient in terminating all connector types and methods for SMF and MMF systems
  • Experience in Fiber (3-5 years)
  • Industry Certifications (Corning/FOA/BICSI)
  • Data Center installation experience
  • Mechanical and Fusion Splice experience
  • OSP / Confined Space Entry experience (splicing)
