Role OverviewThis position is for an Adult Basic Education/GED Instructor responsible for delivery of instruction in Math/Science, Reading-Language Arts and Social Studies through a blended instructional model. The purpose of the Bureau of Education at the Florida Department of Corrections is to provide comprehensive educational programs and services to inmates, enhancing their academic, vocational, and life skills, and promoting personal development and successful reintegration into society.
What You Will Do
The incumbent in this position is responsible for teaching assigned academic subjects to students at a correctional institution/facility, including planning, developing, and conducting classes, supervising inmates, ensuring order and discipline in the classroom, and counseling and advising individuals on program progress, behavior, or personal concerns.

Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university
- Possess or be eligible to apply for a State of Florida Educator's Certificate
- Non-certified applicants must obtain a temporary State of Florida Educator’s Certificate within 12 months of hire
