Role Overview

The Adult Protective Services Worker II classification is a part of a two-level, flexibly staffed classification of the Adult Protective Services Worker series, located in the Adult and Aging Services Department of the Social Services Agency (SSA). Employees in this classification will focus on providing protective services to the adult and elderly community within Alameda County through the adult protective services intake process.

Requirements

  • Experience: The equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience as an Adult Protective Services Worker I in the Alameda County classified service.
  • Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree, including 30 semester or 45 quarter units in social/human services, sociology, gerontology, social welfare, psychology, or a related behavioral science field.
  • Experience: The equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience providing ongoing social casework and/or counseling services to the elderly and/or adults with disabilities.
  • License: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
