Role OverviewJoin Amazon's Global Materials Science (GMS) organization to build the future of sustainable e-commerce packaging. As an Advanced Materials Engineer, you'll drive materials innovation at scale, working directly with paper mills, converters, and equipment OEMs to develop, optimize, and scale kraft and extensible kraft paper grades and paper-based packaging formats.
What You Will Do
Develop and optimize kraft paper grades for e-commerce packaging applications, evaluate and improve basis weight, moisture profiles, and roll quality attributes, and support development and qualification of extensible kraft paper grades.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This role requires a deep understanding of paper formation, wet end chemistry, pressing, drying, calendering, and rewinding, as well as experience with machine design, process optimization, and material property requirements.
Requirements
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
