Job Description
UT Southwestern is seeking an Advanced Pharmacy Tech for its Acute Care IV Room Pipeline. The ideal candidate will have 4 years of experience as a pharmacy technician and 2 years in an area of advanced pharmacy technician concentration. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Preferred qualifications include national certification and sterile compounding (IV) certification.

Requirements

  • Performs job responsibilities in accordance with organizational and departmental policies, procedures, performance improvement objectives and environmental/infection control standards.
  • Coordinates daily workflow in assigned area and provides leadership to other technicians.
  • Provides prompt and courteous service by receiving incoming calls (patients, nurses, physicians, etc.) and prioritizing based on urgency or nature of requests (triage).
  • Participates in teaching activities, including but not limited to, precept Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Students, Pharmacists, and other healthcare practitioners.
  • Audits and signs out all controlled substances in accordance with state/federal guidelines and organizational policies.
