Job Description
Tampa General Hospital seeks a skilled Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) with specialized experience in cardiac critical care to support its ECMO Service Line.

Requirements

  • Provide comprehensive care to ECMO patients, including initial assessments, care plan development, and adjustment of ECMO settings based on clinical indicators.
  • Monitor ECMO parameters daily, troubleshoot issues, and respond to complications such as bleeding, clotting, and infection.
  • Perform bedside procedures (e.g., arterial lines, central lines, cannulation assistance) in line with institutional guidelines.
  • Partner with intensivists, perfusionists, and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Act as a liaison between the healthcare team and patients' families, providing education on ECMO therapy and addressing concerns.
