Our Office of Advanced Practice Providers (OAPP) supports more than 1,000 Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. Working in collaboration with UT Southwestern pediatric faculty across Children’s Health and UT Southwestern hospitals and ambulatory clinics, our APPs are part of a multidisciplinary team providing the highest-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing or higher degree
  • Documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program
  • Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization
  • Advanced Practice RN (CPNP-AC) by Texas State Board of Nursing upon hire and authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and certified licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board (PA-C) upon hire
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified by the American Heart Association or Red Cross, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics based on the UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers upon hire
