Role Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider at Prevea is an advanced practice nurse (NP) or physician assistant (PA) prepared to deliver health care services to patients, families and groups emphasizing the promotion of health and prevention of disease under direct supervision and responsibility of physicians.

What You Will Do

Provides assessment, evaluation, and management to patients with minor, acute, chronic, & episodic illness & injuries. Including performance of follow up exams if required.

Collaborates with patients to review their health background and determine physiological, emotional, and environmental needs, using this information to advise patients and their families on future health plans and illness prevention.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a master's level nurse practitioner program OR graduate from an accredited physician assistant program
  • 1-3 years work experience in a clinical setting within a health care organization
  • Knowledge of the information and techniques required to diagnose and treat human injuries and diseases
  • Demonstrate organizational skills that allow timely patient appointments and appropriate required follow up
  • Presents a courteous and service oriented image through positive and helpful interaction with patients and families, physicians and co-workers
  • Ability to form work/patient relationships with patients and peers
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands
  • Ability to handle and process confidential information
  • Fosters teamwork through effective written and verbal communication
  • Licenses and Certifications: Individual must posses either the licenses/certification details of a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant
  • CPR/Basic Life support for Healthcare Providers certification from approved program
