Job Description

We're seeking an Advanced Propulsion Engineer to develop architectures for new propulsion systems and improve component and sub-system technologies for cost and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Balance vehicle and propulsion system requirements using systems engineering and competitive assessments
  • Continuously benchmark automotive and other industries to identify and implement innovative technologies
  • Support propulsion system architect to develop systems to meet key performance and cost targets
  • Ensure analytical models, initial component designs and controls of key electrification systems and components have been developed
  • Engage with advanced vehicle design for support on propulsion system development and integration
  • Engage with GM R&D to provide input on advanced research projects and participate in future development thereof
  • Lead component or system trade off studies to select optimized solutions to meet vehicle requirements
  • Contribute to best practices for new drive unit and hybrid propulsion systems
  • Protect intellectual property (IP) by documenting new ideas for invention board review and subsequent patent submissions
